Frequently Asked Questions …
Here are a few things we think you’ll probably want to know. If the answer you’re looking for isn’t here then the best thing to do is give us a ring on 01598 710864, or contact us here. Of course we’re probably out in the field feeding the sheep or in the stables brushing the ponies or bottle feeding the lambs so rather than put the phone down just leave a message – and don’t forget to leave your number so we can call you back.
When are your turnaround days, can I arrive on any day?
We do shortbreaks and holidays that start on a Friday or Monday. So you can start a weekly holiday or either of these days. 3 night shortbreaks start on Friday and 4 night midweek breaks commence on Mondays. Sorry but we don’t do single nights.
Whats in the Shepherds Hut?
Everything you need that fits into a hut measuring 16ft x 7ft , well everything except groceries. There’s all the kitchen utensils, a log burner with logs we supply, a gas stove for cooking on, a little sink, there’s a double bed and we’ll provide the linen too.
Can I bring my dog?
Sadly not. Our sheep & goats have a tendency to run amok and get caught up in fences and create havoc if you bring your pet so please leave it at home or put it in kennels nearby – Maybe try Hairy Holidays on 01598 752307
What time should I arrive?
Checkout time is 10 O’clock in the morning and we need a few hours to to get everything clean and the shepherd hut looking lovely so please try and arrive after 4pm – best to ring and let us know when you’re coming so we can arrange to welcome you or let you know where the key is to let yourself in.
Can I bring a tent for friends or the kids?
You are welcome to bring a tent for the duration of your booking in the shepherds hut. We do not allow any campers who aren’t connected with the Shepherd Hut so the site remains exclusive. camping is in addition to the shepherd hut tariff and is payable in cash on arrival at the rate of £10 per child per night and £15 per adult per night.
Are there wash facilities?
Yes there is a shower block with hot water and a sink and a proper flush, there are some photos of these in our photo gallery
